Week 06

Coding without a Computer - Three Activities:

Jam Sandwich Robot

Materials: Bread, butter, jam, plate, knife, (maybe some paper towel / cloth for cleaning up)

This challenge seems really simple:

Create an algorithm (set of instructions) to instruct a robot (your teacher), to make a jam sandwich.

Once you’ve tried you algorithm out with your robot, can you find and fix all of the bugs in the code? What parts of your algorithm didn’t work quite the way you expected? How could you fix it?

Mazes

Can you move your figurine through the mazes using an algorithm? How can you make your set of instructions work with ANY maze?

Computer Communications

How do the internal communications of a computer work? Have a go by being the Central Processing Unit (CPU), the Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU)/Memory or the Display. Can you work together to display the right image?
